‘This Is Vegan Propaganda’: Surge co-founder Ed Winters announces book debut
In a hugely proud moment for everyone at Surge, co-founder and co-director Ed Winters AKA Earthling Ed has unveiled the cover and blurb for his new book - This Is Vegan Propaganda: (And Other Lies the Meat Industry Tells You) - out on January 6th and published by Penguin Books.
This Is Vegan Propaganda is the culmination of six years of diligent research and work, brought together in what Ed described on his Instagram announcement as a “comprehensive yet digestible book that presents an indisputable case for veganism.”
“I wanted to write a book that would empower vegans and that would ultimately make you feel more confident talking about veganism with the non-vegans in your life. After finishing this book, you’ll know in detail the irrefutable arguments for veganism and also have an in-depth understanding of the cultural, social and psychological drivers that influence our behaviours.”
Ed has drawn upon years of research and conversations with slaughterhouse workers, farmers, animal rights philosophers, environmentalists and everyday consumers through his many talks and his background in street outreach and grassroots activism.
The book has already received endorsement from high-profile vegans and animal justice campaigners including Moby and Evanna Lynch. Bestselling author Matt Haig has described it as “essential reading” while Dr Sparsha Saha, lecturer and researcher at Harvard University with a focus on animal agriculture, said she was ‘deeply impressed’ by Ed’s logic and knowledge
